Agile TMS/ Agile TMS-NET
System Monitoring
As mine and railroad communications expand and become more complicated, the need to have a more intelligent communications network becomes ever more critical. Leaky Feeder networks have grown, in some cases, to include hundreds of amplifiers and other devices. When performance issues arise, particularly in some of these larger systems, the ability to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot the network has also become more complicated. To address these concerns, Tunnel Radio has developed the ‘next generation’ of our Tunnel Monitoring System (TMS).
The TMS card is configured to install in all our amplifier products; however, the device is adaptable to any competitive Leaky Feeder network, VHF or UHF. Using our wireless data bus capable of DSL speeds, information regarding radio network system performance, troubleshooting and a broad spectrum of other uses is presented to the end-user for the first time in mining. Options include: RFID tracking, air quality measurements (two- and four-gas) including methane and CO, rock mechanics and wireless remote control and reporting functions. Agile TMS is designed to be used with our MineAx™ server platform which includes a feature-rich, web-based software interface.
TMS-NET acts as a simpler platform, with an embedded web server providing basic TMS information as shown by the UltraComm head unit. Users can access the web page through a local network or the internet.
Features & Functions:
Agile TMS:
- Easily configured and programmable for UHF, VHF and 220 PTC operations – all on the same board.
- Head automatically scans network and retrieves data, displaying critical information regarding amplifier voltages and power levels.
- Is ‘intelligent’ in that it knows how many devices are on the network. If any don’t ‘report in’ either because they are missing, or for some reason not responding, that information will be reported back to the head end and IP network, if available.
- Useful to precisely identify the network area with a performance issue, thereby reducing troubleshoot and repair time. Instant viewing/polling of specific locations.
- Option ports – serial, TTL, logic and I/O drivers. Option bus for MineAx tracking RFID card, gas sensor card and remote I/O.
- Channel agility also allows operation on any Leaky Feeder network, VHF or UHF
Agile TMS-NET
- Provides the same information that is displayed on the head end unit, but additionally, allows for basic remote (IP) monitoring and control of the network.
- Provides the ability to initiate a manual system scan, without having to wait for the automatic scan to take place
- Provides the capability to generate a summary report on the status of all monitored devices. This report will allow the user to spot trends so that potential problems may be anticipated, and thus avoided.
